Although woodland caribou once wintered in the area, you are more likely to see moose on this very popular trail. It is a cross-section through Fundy’s forest ecosystems with a thick evergreen stand, leafy hardwood groves, streamside alder thickets, and a bog. Small lakes add to the diversity of the scenery. A short loop boardwalk, 0.5 km in length, is accessible to wheelchairs. A longer loop, 2.1 kilometers long, will take about 1 hour to walk with only brief stops.

- Deafening chorus of Spring Peepers, the smallest frogs of Fundy, in May and June
- Trout lily, Dutchman’s breeches, rose twisted stalk, spring beauty, and purple trillium are all known as spring ephemeral; plants that must bloom and set seeds before the sunlight is obscured by a canopy of tree leaves
- A beaver pond and dam
- A place to see boreal birds such as Black-backed Woodpecker, Boreal Chickadee, Red Crossbill, and White-winged Crossbill
- Beautiful fall colors
- A great place to observe the night sky throughout the year - A great snowshoeing trail in winter
