by Craig MacDonaldFrom the parking lot located off Herring Cove road, the trail goes over fields regenerating into a second-growth forest. An old wagon road then slopes down to the remnants of a 19th century homestead. A short side route opens up to the mighty Bay of Fundy.
Metal Detecting at Wentworth Falls - Found Some Bling!
by Craig MacDonaldThis is a short video where I tested out a new metal detecting location at a popular, and arguably quite historic, waterfall and wading pool! I didn't leave empty-handed and I came out a 'little' richer than when I went in!
East Branch Trail (Crazy Finds!) - Fundy National Park
by Craig MacDonaldDescription From Offical Fundy National Park:
This trail is a genuine trip to the Acadian Forest of Fundy. It derives its English name from the fact that it leads to the East Branch tributary of the Point Wolfe River that originated at the southern tip of Wolfe Lake.
This is the domain of large trees such as sugar maple, yellow birch, red spruce, and balsam fir. Although more than 5 km long, it is an easy flat terrain walk.
The old logging road is a wider section of the trail open to mountain biking. On this trail, you may find artifacts remaining from the region's logging past.
Distance: 5.6 km loop
Time: 2 to 2.5 h
Difficulty: Moderate
Habitat: Forest
